The Best Products for Managing Vestibular Migraines

Living with vestibular migraines is a tough balancing act, but there are always ways to make it easier. Over time, I’ve gathered a little arsenal of products for managing vestibular migraines that help make living with vestibular migraines a bit more manageable.

These are products I have referenced in my blog post and have made a difference in my journey with vestibular migraines. From soothing essentials that calm my senses during a flare-up to daily-use items that help keep those dizzy spells at bay. I’ve personally tried and tested each of these products, and I’m hopeful that they might offer you the same relief and support they’ve brought me. As always on my blog, any supplements on this list should be approved by your healthcare professional. As I always emphasize on my blog, please clear any supplements with your healthcare professional before use.

BOOKS

Heal Your Headache

Heal Your Headache: The 1-2-3 Program for Taking Charge of Your Pain

This book was the first vestibular migraine book I read where I felt like there WERE doctors out there who understood what I was dealing with. I had been to so many doctors who had no answers, or worse, the wrong answers. This book gave me the tools I needed to start helping myself feel better and find the right support.

The Dizzy Cook Cookbook

The Dizzy Cook: Managing Migraine with More Than 90 Comforting Recipes and Lifestyle Tips

The recipes in this book are not only delicious but also align wonderfully with the ‘Heal Your Headache’ book, making them a fantastic addition to anyone adopting a migraine diet. These migraine diet recipes work wonders in complementing your efforts to manage vestibular migraines through nutrition.

The Mediterranean Migraine Diet

In her second cookbook, The Dizzy Coke brings a Mediterranean spin to a migraine diet. The migraine diet recipes in this book are so good and they work great with the Heal Your Headache book.

HELPFUL PRODUCTS

OURA RING

Oura Ring Gen3 Horizon

I’m still discovering all the ways this ring can help me manage my vestibular migraines, but the biggest benefit so far is the ability to track both the duration and quality of my sleep, playing a crucial role in reducing the likelihood of triggering a vestibular migraine. Additionally, it provides valuable data that I can refer to when analyzing the patterns and triggers when I do have a migraine attack.

PILL/SUPPLEMENT ORGANIZER

AM PM 7-Day Pill Organizer

Supplements are key to helping me manage my vestibular migraines so keeping track of which supplements I take in a day is important. I like this one because it helps keep my supplements organized and I can take my supplements with me when I travel.

KITCHEN ITEMS

Water Pitcher

Half Gallon Mason Jar Pitcher

I use this when I make my Pink Himalayan Salt Water Sole. It is sturdy, easy to use, keeps a nice seal, and is leakproof so I can shake it up before each use. For more information on Pink Himalayan Salt and how it can help with vestibular migraines check out this post.

ESSENTIAL OILS

LAVANDER ESSENTIAL OIL

Plant Therapy Lavender Essential Oil

I have a serious crush on this company, their oils are next-level. Their lavender essential oil, in particular, is a staple in my collection of essential oils for migraines. Its soothing aroma is perfect for easing tension and promoting relaxation, making it a must-have for anyone looking to naturally manage migraine symptoms.

PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL

Plant Therapy Organic Peppermint Essential Oil

I have a serious crush on this company, their oils are next-level.

ESSENTIAL OIL DIFFUSER

Diffusers for Essential Oils Large Room

I use aromatherapy for migraine relief but also as a tool for unwinding or setting the mood. With hundreds of styles to choose from, it’s all about finding what works best for you and your space. If you’re unsure where to start, the one I use has been fantastic. My top tip when selecting essential oils, especially for migraine relief, is to always opt for high-quality oils.I love Plant Therapy essential oils.

SUPPLEMENTS

MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE

Solaray Magnesium Glycinate

This is one of the two types of Magnesium I use. I try to only use supplements with ingredients compatible with a low histamine diet and this one does a good job at that. I should mention that when adding Magnesium to your diet you may discover you are more *throat clear* regular. Chat with your doctor about adding it to your daily routine, I did.

MAGNESIUM L-THREONATE

Jarrow Formulas: MagMind Magnesium L-Threonate

This is the second of two Magnesium supplements I use. I try to only use supplements with ingredients compatible with a low histamine diet and this one does a good job at that. I should mention that when adding Magnesium to your diet you may discover you are more *throat clear* regular. Chat with your doctor about adding it to your daily routine, I did.

RIBOFLAVIN B-2

Nature’s Way Riboflavin Vitamin B2

Magnesium and B2 are known buddies for battling migraines, they have been a key addition to my daily routine. But, I wanted to warn you. You WILL look like you are peeing the stuff that goes inside a glow stick. Don’t worry, it’s normal. Vitamin B2 can make your urine bright yellow because the body excretes any excess of this water-soluble vitamin that it doesn’t absorb. Also, this brand does have a gelatin which may be an issue for you, it’s not for me. I like the lower amount per serving and that is why I use this particular one.

GINGER

Nature’s Way Ginger Root

This was a tip given to me by my Vestibular Doctor and I am shook that it actually works. At the very beginning stages of a migraine, like RIGHT when I have that feeling of “uh oh, I think I have a migraine coming on” I take a serving of this ginger root with a serving of Magnesium and many times it’s all I need to stop the migraine.
