Peach and Cottage Cheese Bowl with Honey & Nuts [Low Histamine]

NUTS but still LOW HISTAMINE? Yup! Brazil Nuts are one of the few nuts that are compatible with a low histamine diet. This Peach and Cottage Cheese bowl topped with honey and Brazil nuts is so easy to make but you will be shocked how incredibly delicious it is. This is a morning go-to for me.

ALL ABOUT THE INGREDIENTS

All the ingredients used in this recipe are truly low histamine and can be found on the TLH YES List.

COTTAGE CHEESE – SIGHI 0

Cottage Cheese is not on the SIGHI Food Compatibility list but is on the SIGHI Elimination Diet handout and is categorized as “WELL TOLERATED”, the term used by SIGHI for food items with a SIGHI Compatibility value of 0. Be sure to check the ingredients in cottage cheese for additives, many times there is some kind of thickening agent like guar gum added. Milk, Cream, Salt…that’s all you need.

Suggested Brand: Daisy Brand

PEACH – SIGHI 0

Both peach and nectarine (a type of peach with smooth skin) are compatible with a low histamine diet. I always stock frozen peaches, they are great to have on hand for making oatmeal and smoothies.

HONEY – SIGHI 0

When choosing a honey, choose raw honey. Raw honey is unfiltered and unheated and boasts potential health benefits over regular honey due to its retained pollen, enzymes, and antioxidants.

BRAZIL NUTS – SIGHI 0

Brazil Nuts are one of the few nuts we can eat on a low histamine diet. They are reminiscent of macadamia nuts in both taste and texture. What makes Brazil nuts particularly beneficial for those on a low histamine diet is they are an excellent source of selenium, an antioxidant that supports the body’s natural ability to stabilize histamine levels and mitigate allergic reactions.
